Teenage Girl From Corinth Winning Big in Motocross Racing

Corinth - The best drivers in motocross racing are mostly men. In Corinth, a 13 year old girl is not only holding her own against the guys, she's also taking home trophies.

Her name is Gabrielle Conners and as Prescott Rossi found out, the sky is the limit for this child racing wonder.

It was pretty clear from a young age that Gabrielle Conners was something special. Her family has estimated that she's won over 200 trophies in her young career. As she gets older, the competition is getting tougher, but Gabrielle keeps on winning.

For 13 year old Gabrielle Conners, going over the course at Mountainview Motocross in Carmel is just another day of practice.

"I guess it runs in the family. My dad used to race and my grandfather used to race."

She's been riding since she was three years old and has been racing since age seven.

"It's like whoever is in front of me, I just want to beath them. It's like it's my goal to get ahead of whoever is in front of me."

From an early age, she's been taking home trophies even in races against the boys.

"Yeah, I love to beat the guys. There have been a few of them that didn't really like that I beat them but most of them are good about it."

Motocross isn't always glorious for gabrielle. While she hasn't broken any bones, she has taken some bad spills that have given her bumps and bruises. For her family, it can be pretty nerve-racking.

"You'd have to have no feelings if it didn't. It does. I'm the first one that when I see her go down, I get real scared."

She hopes to one day go pro in motocross and shows no sign of slowing down.

"I dont know if there is a limit to where she can take this to. It's unlimited I guess."

Gabrielle Conners has a couple tune up races over the next few weeks before the regionals in Winchester, New Hampshire on September 20th. Even at age 13, she is hoping to compete in a class with both men and women.

I was driving past Albertson's Horse Farm on RT.43 (Horsetail Hill Rd.) in Madison recently when I noticed they had posted a sign that reads "Motox Track $10".

Does anybody know what's up with this? Is it a practice track only or are they holding Races there as well?

Russ has been at almost every race for the last 3 or 4 years, show him some love and keep him coming to the races by buying a print. Maybe one a race or one a month. That'll get you a nice photo album full to show the grand kids when you're done racing.

In seasons past there have been at least a couple of photographers at each race who would post pics for sale a day or two after. Have they stopped coming? Thought I saw someone at Hemonds but never saw any pics advertised. Don't recall seeing anyone at 207...

so i gotta ask some of the people out there, why arent you racing or coming to the track to watch. you can tell me the truth even its its bad. but please dont bash or rip on anything. i'm just wondering if its money, or you dont like the series, you dont like mms, you dont like the riders or the competition? if a small thing could change and get 10 more riders to show up ... wouldnt that be worth it :D the only thing i really dont wanna here is contingency money....which is great to get... but for mid mainers to travel all that way to get 100 bucks in contingency doesnt make since to me. you would spend double to triple just to race there. tell me what ya think... the lines are open, next caller please :P

Hey everyone,

If anyone is heading to 207 or going trail riding from the Scarborough area and can fit another bike please hit me up. I'll gladly throw in some gas money for going out of your way. I'll go riding just about any weekend, but I don't have a trailer yet. I have a 08 450 that I've ridden 2 hours since I've bought it and am itching to ride it.

Injured riders

When riders are injured at any track. Please be respectful of the electronic world in which we live.

Please do not post on any website or facebook the details of the injury or the person.
Please understand it is the rider's or their family's right to notify who they want to. Please allow them the respect.

With one injury posted on someone's facebook. The parents of the injured rider began receiving frantic calls from people who cared. WHICH is wonderful. But it did jam up the phone for the call's they needed to make.

Please be respectful and hold off your posts and comments regarding riders names and suspected injury's.

I have visited both family's today in the hospital and expressed the motocross family's will be there for what ever they need. I will post more info when they ask me to.

I have been in and around the maine motocross since 2001 and followed my big bro around New England with NESC in the early 90's . Serae has put on a great series and works very hard I wish that the politics or what ever the issue may be with Skowhegan would end and we could at least have 3 tracks with #130 coming up through the ranks from pee-wee ,50cc 7-9 and now riding a 65 two tracks is not enough diversity . I would like to sign him up for another series but really can't afford to travel that far every weekend. Well maybe someday I will be rich and have a riding facility until then we can just hope for the best . If anyone has a get rich plan let me know I'm game. See you at the track!

Any one else been going to mototown. Ive been there 3 times so far this winter.The track is really good. its still a little cold but they got a place you can go in to warm up. and tey got a new session thing 2 hours at a time.

2010 MMS Series - just 3 tracks?

I am planning on racing the whole series next season God willing! Am I correct in assuming the races will be at one of three tracks? Hemonds, MX207, and Valley? That's fine with me, just curious. Sure wish I had the funds to build a track here in the Bangor area!

Southwick this Sunday

Now that the Maine series is over why not pack up a few bikes and head on down to Southwick for a chance to take a spin on the national track?

This Sunday there's no NESC card needed, everyone's welcome!

It's also rider appreciation day and the guys at MX338 have rounded up a bunch of prizes from the MX industry as well as local businesses.

Make a whole weekend out of it, stop by Crow Hill for some practice on Saturday and then shoot over to Southwick on Sunday.

I just got a 1987 cr500 yesterday and have got it to start 2 times out of about 50, it just had a rebuild very recently and has great compression, the guy started it in 2 kicks when i got there and it idled great. I drove 3 hours home with it on a trailer and when i got home i got it to start after probably 25 kicks, then it ran awesome, figured it was the plug so i changed it and i have a B9ES in it. kicked it about 20 times and got off, got back on, and kicked it very slowly to prime it and it started when i was trying to prime it slowly and ran great until i shut it off.

I cleaned the carb, checked the reeds, and everything is fine but it still won't start, any help? thanks!

I do know he wasn't wearing a neck brace i guess it made him uncomfortable, no way of knowing if it would of helped, but it may of been just enough to stop the severing of the cord?
