im sure it is the weather... but could be the gas or the carb might be stuck. was it flooding out?? did you check for a spark? but i would also make sure to give it about 10 nice slow kicks to warm up the piston before putting the boots to er

Don't worry, it's just the temperature outside.  Jetting for 60-70 degrees doesn't work so well when it's zero!  You can give the throttle a few turns (slow roll ons, not quick turns) and the accelerator pump will shoot some extra fuel into the venturi.  Cold air is more dense and requires a richer mixture than our carbs are set up for.  You'd have to change at least the pilot jet and probably would have to adjust the fuel screw and needle to get it to run properly in this weather.  Look in your owner's manual for proper jetting for varying temps...  My KXF won't start either unless I fire up the space heater and warm the garage up!

When I sold my YZ 125 it took about 10 kicks to get it fired. I was getting worried on the 5th one. The buyer knew why it wouldnt start though so it was all good. I noticed the bike revved alot quicker in the cold than ever before though.

Hey Zach, you'll find that if your bike sits longer than a week or two, it starts easy if you drain the gas out of the carb via the allen drain screw on bottom of carb and let the fresh gas into the carb.  My 05 and 06 both liked the fresh premium fuel and if it sat for longer than a week or so, they didnt want to start. Drain float bowl and starts right up. Although,If you're gonna do any winter riding , you will need to rejet.

If winning isnt everything, why keep score?

Just pump the throttle a few times, and just give it a few slow but solid kicks and she should fire right up. Thats what goes down with the SXF anyways...not everythings a ktm though
