| | I don't think any one track in MMS is more difficult than any other, but they all have their tricky sections. For me, just getting back into racing last year after being out for 20 years, the old Hemonds track was the toughest, it has a lot of technical jumps, big table-tops that to ride fast you need to be precise on. Valley has two tricky sand sections that can put you on your head quickly if you are not used to deep sand, MX207 has a 45' double and a 100+' table, and two long sand sections that get really rough. Hemonds new track and Bull Run both have some awesome hills and a lot of elevation change that many people think are tough, but I love. I think all the tracks in Maine are very good and really fun, but none of them still compare to how they used to run Southwick back in the 80's. Not a lot of big jumps but as rough as it gets! |

| No one has responded so far because difficulty is a hard thing to rate. All the tracks are designed to be ridden by all skill levels, so it pretty much depends on the rider. But, I'll give it a try from easiest to hardest for me.
----------------------------------
Skowhegan - I havn't been there in a few years now, but it's where I and a lot of Maine riders got their start. It's a family sort of track that's mostly flat without anything too tough.
MX207 - A fast track with a few doubles and some big tabletops. Two long sand sections that can get really whooped out if their not groomed. Long lap times, really fun track.
Hemond's Old Track - Sort of like a supercross track. It's mostly flat ground with really nicely shaped jumps and bowl turns. The track isn't very wide and I've found myself making a lot of contact with other riders. It also ends up having lots of really hard braking and acceleration bumps. I've hurt myself more at this track than any other.
Bull Run - They've taken out the tougher obstacles over the last few years, but other than the new Hemond's track it's got the most elevation and gets really rough by the end of the day. The dirt is on top of ledge in some places and that ledge always comes through eventually. There's a lot of off camber turns that can make things interesting.
Hemond's New Track - The fastest, rolliest, baddest track in Maine. Some big jumps and tons of elevation change. Probably not a good track for your first race, but very fun.
---------------------------------
I havn't been to Valley or Spruce, and these are just my personal opinions. |
