| | I ride crf250's and my friend has an 06 ktm125sx and in my opinion the ktm125 is way more fun. lots of power much more then expected for a 125 and the suspension isnt half as bad as the magazines say maybe just a notch off the 250f's but more fun |

| | it depends, MX or woods, how big are you and what ios your level of phitness.. For the track the 125 is great since it is way lighter but the power hits hard... and if you're in the wrong gear coming out of a corner you're losing spots. A 250f is way more forgiving and has power everywhere but is heavier. For the woods it's a no-brainer for most guys in favor of a 4t especially since there are really any 125's for woods. Condiditoning makes a difference too. A 250 is going to be heavier and take its toll on you physically even in a short moto. In short, there's no real answer except to ride them both. |

| | I rode my buddy's YZ125 and my KX250F back to back. No question the 250F has more power everywhere and didn't feel any heavier. The 125 may be lighter (not significantly) but the power is very narrow and it needs to be kept on the pipe (lots of clutchwork and shifting!). I had to work a lot harder on the 125 to go as fast as I did on the 250F. That's more tiring mentally than having a couple of extra pounds to throw around! |

| | I got raaaaped with my yz 125 racing last season. No way to keep up with 4strokes.. not enough power to keep up at all. No matter how high I revved the bike down straights, gearing changes, etc could not help me keep up with 250fs going down straights and I always lost spots that I could make up in the corners. I'm wondering how bubba stewart rode one in 04 against other guys on 4strokes and still beat them. haha, as you can tell I hate 125s now that I don't have one anymore. I think if I had a 250f last year I would have had a much easier season. If your gonna spend thousands on a new bike, don't waste the money with a 125. Go straight for a 250f. The added weight might be a turnoff, but they have a much more usuable range of power and they have much more overall pull than a 125. Maybe not a 144, but definately a 125. The only other downside for a 250f is maintainence and upkeep, but then again you have to maintain every bike about the same anyways.
