Yeah it bites I can't wait to ride again too. It's going to be a long winter waiting for spring mx... but at least there's snowmobiling.

RE: Herniated Disc

pat. i'm out with a broken tib/fib for the rest of the season, at least your not the only one done for the year. it really sucked watching the races all weekend instead of riding in them, especially since I rode 2 motos and walked 3 days after I broke it and I know I could've rode this weekend if my dad let me.

I told the doctors that a log rolled onto my leg when i was outside "playing" hhahahaha.

RE: Herniated Disc

Yeah that's exactly what happened Keith. I was looking at disc and BAM I got broad-sided and it felt like my neck went down into my back 6 inches. Cool, somebody who knows what ultimate is... I played for years before beginning motocross, it's a very fun sport. It's true though when non-motocross people say you are endangering your kids letting them race motocross I think about all the injuries you can get doing just about any sport. I know a guy who never did any sports and broke his leg in many places just stepping off his steps at his house.

RE: Herniated Disc

Ultimate ain't your backyard frisbee toss. It's like soccer and football combined and a hell of a workout. And you can definitely get hurt when you and someone else are both running full speed with your eyes on the frisbee and crash into each other.

RE: Herniated Disc

I just can't stand it anymore. I have to post I have waited all day long because I feel bad for Patrick. BUT:::::

A frisbee, What a great add for motocross and for the Hospitals to take notice you can get hurt with a frisbee game and not just motocross.

(I can get hurt falling off a piece of sand).

RE: Herniated Disc

Thanks for the info. Actually I didn't do it racing motocross, I had fallen behind in the spring points due to bike problems and started playing ultimate frisbee. Somebody ran into my neck full speed while simply running around. Slowly my hip started hurting until it was constant pain and it's like being stabbed in the hip and really excrutiating at night time when laying down so I have to take meds to sleep. I actually raced the last two races with this condition and it didn't make it worse but people keep telling me I should not do it so I've been waiting to get doctor opinion but I have to wait another week to see specialist. I had an MRI and nurse told me over answering machine it was herniated disc but don't know which disc it is yet. I have a feeling I will have to give up fall series and resume in spring though I don't want to...

RE: Herniated Disc

just wondering which disc it is. My wife had her 4th and 5th lumbar herniated and had to have surgery. they removed the disc and put in like plastic dowels to lift her spine back up. I recommend going to eric omesberg out of waterville, they say he is the best in the state. Dont want to scare you but I think everybodys injury is different. For my wife she is careful about what she does, but is happy with the way her back feels.

RE: Herniated Disc
Pat P Diddy (9/3/2007)
I'm out of commission for a while with herniated disc, just wondering if anybody has come back from this injury... I know lots of people that had herniated discs do to work related injuries, most healed with time and rest.. I hear vitamins and calcium help as well.. If its serious sometimes a herniated disc may require more... One of my subs had to get an operation. He may have never needed it, had he stopped using his back while his disc was herniated, two month after surgery he was back to normal.. He can use his back again, and is just fine. He can lift heavy things and do anything he wants, of course making sure he does it properly.. If you dont mind me asking, was it from lifting something or from mx?

Herniated Disc

I'm out of commission for a while with herniated disc, just wondering if anybody has come back from this injury...
