Anyone have a 2008 Kawasaki 450?

Ok I almost bought a Suzuki this year but the dealers told me all the 450's were recalled. Now I'm glad I didn't. Anyway I seriously think I want to switch to Kawasaki and chase contingency in NESC as they have exceptional contingency but it's the only bike I have yet to ride. I want to wait for the new 2009 but would like to see how the 08 feels. Would anybody be willing to let me try their Kawi for 1 lap at 207 on a practice day? It would be greatly appreciated.

NEMA has waived the usual membership requirement and the one day license fee for the June 21st and 22nd racee at MX 207. If your looking for a place to race this weekend try NEMA out. MX 207 has also added Monday as a practice day, for this week only, for anyone that wants to stay overnight on Sunday and practice from 10:00am to 7:30 pm. Price $25.00

Bill and I received a thank you from Chace's mom for the care and compassion Chace Received at MX-207. The entire 6/1 Race team received this thank you from the Medeiros Family.

This was a result of an excellent team of people we have at MX-207 who can come together in an instant. Some of the MX-207 staff members have worked with me for years others a few times. But no one works alone at MX-207 we are all there for the riders/racers.

Chace Medeiros, Rider # 111y, was hurt yesterday during the 125 Youth C second moto, the race was Red flagged. Chace is sore and does have a concussion. I believe the neck brace saved his life along with the best gear protecting him.

I also have to thank the riders who were looking at the flags displayed and slowed down and exited the track. Great job riders you did an outstanding job.

No matter what child races motocross, My feeling is they are all like my motocross children.

Sign up the night before from 6pm to 8pm (NESC members only, Unless Ruthie is there early)

Sign up for one day racers will be done on Sunday Morning 6:00am to 8:00am

The first NESC race was fun to watch at MX-207, Can't wait to see the great battles this time.

Please note we will be checking for correct numbers on all plates and chest protectors.
If no chest protector the # must be on your shirt.

Please come to the line with clean plates. Wipe them off and spray with Pam or WD-40 to keep anything from sticking.

Sportsmanship

Often times motocross gets a bad rap ! We need to stick together and mention the good things that happen in our sport.

Anyone who watched the races this weekend at MX-207 both Saturday and Sunday saw some of the best sportsmanship in any sport.

There were so many great races at the track, people battled for position from st to last and last to first.

MX-207 is a fast track. Sometimes things happen, a racing accident. How you handle yourself after the incident sets you and motocross apart from many other sports. (ok I may be partial I admit). But I have been a coach for other sports and seen the worst of the worst).

Over the last 20 years I have taken a good many riders/racers aside and talked to them about sportsmanship and their actions. One on one.

This weekend I saw riders racing hard and fast and for position. When you have a 3 lap sprint it can be intense.
Riders just went for it. Sometimes it cost them and they did a soil sample:
The end of some of the races:
Riders with thumb's up to other riders
Riders who had high fives for riders who beat them
Riders who won showed their respect.
The respect for the yellow flag was awesome.

Just to mention one of many things I saw Sunday: The rider before the finish line who came over the tunnel and bumped into another rider, completely by accident (racing accident). I was standing there it just happened. The rider who bumped into the other rider was there with deep concern and apology for what happened.
What could have been an ugly issue was handled with complete respect from rider to rider. (I know who both riders are but don't want to mention names as they may not want me too).

Another incident with one of the moto's, Finish flag and white flag. A few riders pulled off the track realizing there may be an issue. The riders handled it with class. With all the adrenaline at high speed inside their helmets the emotion was at the surface.
I am proud to say, I saw dad's waiting for their racers knowing a decision was coming one way or the other that could change the results/finishes.

However the MX-207 team and the MMS team instantly came together and made the decision. I am a firm believer that a decision must to be made at the time of the infraction with the rulebook in hand. You will see me on race day with a rule book almost always in my hand. Communication with the decision makers to meet in one location. Everyone is informed on the staff in case someone come's to them. The person who makes the final decision is identified to the race day team in the event someone asks.

We all can promote the good things in the sport and races. Remember anyone who has visited MX-207 may review the web site and forum's. Family members who live away keep up to date on their friends and relatives through the different sites.

Keep in mind every person you see at any track, practice or races, may be their first time ever seeing motocross or attending and event. Each one of us who loves the sport has the chance to make an impression good bad or ugly.

One person at a time can make a difference in how our sport is viewed.

Great job this weekend everyone.
