Places to ride in Lisbon area

Does anyone know of trails or pits in the lisbon area that allow riding???? Any help is appreciated.....

If you ride in the woods and don't have your own land, you probably recognize that you could lose access to that land if yahoos trash the place. If you want to be part of the solution to trail closures check out www.treadlightly.org. On the "Programs/Tread Trainer" page you'll see that Friend & Friend, Orono and Reynolds Motorsports in Buxton are hosting communications training courses for people like me who want to keep riding my favorite trails. The Orono date is Sunday, February 28th and Buxton event is two weeks later on March 14th.

Tread Lightly! is very serious about off road. They started 25 years ago as part of the US Forest Service. They've since become a non-profit whose sponsors include Yamaha, Suzuki, Kawasaki, Arctic Cat, Polaris, and the AMA. In 2009 alone they reached 10 million people through print & TV public service announcements and 30,000 folks face-to-face. NETRA is having a charity ride this Sunday in Assonet, MA... a couple of us are heading down tomorrow. Looks like good weather... they have a 100 and 150 mile loop. The deal is you have to bring a toy for your entry plus $25 (I believe).

Hey so I was on youtube the other day and found a video of someone rippin' around a track and it said it was in Leeds but its not Bull Run.I asked and who ever posted it said its open on wednesdays to the public. I found out where abouts it was and google earth'd it. Looks pretty nice. Does anyone know anything about it or has anyone rode on it? Anyone own it?! Google earth screen shot attached.

I know at least a few people on these forums ride out at Dube's Pit in Sabattus. I was just wondering if anyone knew whom to get a hold of for permission to ride there if required, when you can ride there and what part of the pit they allow riding in. I know most people consider their riding spot top secret, but we are all out here for a common love of the dirt. I'm really just looking for a place to practice a little as i don't feel i am quite ready to go play at Hemonds quite yet. Thanks in advance for any info.

I live in South Portland,cant find any place to take the kids riding,where i can park the van and not have to worry about getting towed. I have 2 small kids just learning to ride on 50cc dirt bikes with training wheels,Looking for something like a dirt road,a field,a trail that is pretty easy to ride on for a beginner(with training wheels)??? anything will work even if its just a small area. Id appreciate any help i can get....THank you very much.Russ

there is a great practice trck on the bethel rumford line. its all sand, but it has some monster whoops and decent jumps. you can ride any time for free as long as you stay on the track and away from the cemetary in front of it.

Starting 5-6-08 Mountainview Motocoss will be open for practice from 5:30 pm to Dark Tuesdays and Thursday only. The track has everything from large tabletops, whoops, berm corners, off camber , sand section etc. We have riders from 50 cc up to experts. We provide a safe environment to practice and work on your skills, we have flaggers present, we have experts that offer by the hour lessons other nights of the week, we have plenty of room for spectators as well. Continueing to improve the facility, we also have water as our dusty season will soon be on us. Directions are from I-95 take exit 174 Carmel Newburgh from the North bear right, from South bear Left go about 500 yards dirt road on left just before large gray barn, Road is Mountainview Lane, proceed slowly up road you will see signs directing to the track about 1/2 from entrance. I'm a new member and eventhough I'm from MA, I'm sometimes in the Bethel area. I was wondering if anyone knows of any riding spots near Bethel. I know that Spruce Mountain MX is right near there, but I can't seem to find when they hold practice. Anything would be a great help. Thanks.

im just curious but am i the only one who sneeks out to hit the moguls on sled trails with the bike?? the folks arround here get a bit tweeked, mostly cuz they cant catch me, and its illegal. i read the law books and found that every page is a contradiction of every word printed. by definition everything " but your cars n stuff" is an atv. yes even snosleds are atv's by definition. and the law books encourage riding on maintained trails. i just think its funny, i think everybody should ride and live it up but dusnt it make more sense to ride on frozen trails then mud bog the hell out of them??

wanna try riding on ice? pick your tires and head over to hermon pond. theres a drag strip and a plowed track just to the right to buzz arround on. park at the boat landing across the street from hermon mtn ski slope. :D

I recently moved to auburn and have since bought a cr250 to play on. I know there are several tracks to ride on in the area, but i haven't ridden dirt in about 15 years and would like to find a place to play around and get comfortable on the bike before going to run practices. After searching on google earth I noticed that there are several pits in auburn or the outskirts. Does anyone know if any of the pit owners will give use permision to use them in the off hours? I have heard dirtbikes in town and it sounds like they are coming from the Walmart area, but I can never seem to find them when i go looking, would anyone here know where they might be riding? I'm also looking for people to ride with if anyone is up for a ride.

I'm looking for places to ride within 50 miles of Portland. I camp in the Steep Falls area and have seen ATV's on some of the trails. Do they allow bikes on those trails? I just purchased a crf 250x and need some good places to ride.

My son and i have recently gotten back into dirt biking and wanted to know about riding on some of the sled/atv trails in maine. We ride sleds all winter in the usual places like Jackman, Greenville, Rangley and Millinockett areas. I know we need to register, but do they allow bikes on these trails? Anyone know how to find out?

I hear Ken's work parking lot is a great place to practice. It's where transworld spy's caught him practicing for the upcoming MMS season. Word on the street is he's perfected his triple lux dismount (onto a two by four) perfectly. Be sure to bring soft compound tires for the pavement and wear full leathers as the roadrash can be brutal.

I'm trying to locate a practice track, or area for my sons to start practicing in another month or so. We live in the midcoast area (Friendship). My sons ride mini ATV's. Although Rylee is going to also try a bike this year.

Anyone know of a place we could go in the MidCoast area? I would like to get them somewhere weekly once practice season starts. They race at Skowhegan, but it's just too far to drive every week for practice. We really need somewhere closer to home.

We took the boys and my nephews over to Warren Pits to ride Friday night and again yesterday afternoon. Had a blast! There were a few other riders there yesterday, on atv's and bikes. Riding was better Friday night, it had just rained that afternoon. Yesterday was dusty dusty dusty! :) but still fun.

I just wanted to say lots of open area to ride. Loose sand/soft dirt. Great riding! Hope to see some other people there off and on during the summer!

Mountainview Motocross Track, has open ride on Thursday nights starting May 10th, from 5:30 - Dark, Adult Supervised, proper motocross gear required, no ATV's. Lesson are also available group or private other nights of the week. Location: Route 69 Carmel, From north on I95 Take Carmel Exit bear Right approximately 500 yards take left on Mountain View Lane, dirt road, proceed slowly on dirt road approx. 3/4 - 1 mile to track. I just moved back to Maine from that terrible place called Mass.... well, guess what. I had no issues ripin around all winter long down there, and there are countless places to ride. What is the deal up here boys? Are there any pits in southern Maine I can go rip without blue lights following me home? Is anyone gonna start railin on this mud or what? I am having with drawls and I gotta go riding this week. I am from the Monmouth area so I am at a loss for secret sweet spots to go riding around Saco. Help me out Please? The snow is close enough to gone so spare me that story...haha. I am about to tear down the Power lines, but I dont wanna piss off my neighbors (yet).
