Are you running an O-ring? Stock? If your keeping track of the cost per hour you have way to much time on your hands (just kiddin). I figured about 30-35 an hour for my yamaha. I do all the maint. myself, its not hired out, with parts at cost. I've figured out it costs approximately $40 per hour to run my 450 and that's with squeezing the most hours as possible out of my parts... this doesn't include unexpected damage due to crashes...this includes normal maintenance; everything from gas, oil, tires, clutches, top end replacements, valve adjustments, etc etc based on actual usage and life expectancy. That's what they should publish in motocross magazines but of course they probably don't want people to know how much they are really spending on motocross.

RE: Best Chain for Dollar

The best chain for your dollar in my opinion is the regina. For example I average 13.08 hours for my renthal chains and they cost $69 so that ends up being $5.28 per hour of operation. At one point I had tested an RK chain and was able to get 33% more life out of it but can't remember how much I paid for it. Does anybody else track life expectancy of parts like I do?
