I feel like springs are generic enough that it doesn't matter who you get them from. I just say FC because that's the only shop I've ever had work done by.

RE: Need help (suspension)

Pro Action, I've got it on my YZ 250f and it's awesome.

RE: Need help (suspension)

I think I am going to call them.

thanks

RE: Need help (suspension)
KXrider (2/15/2007)
Where would you get stiffer springs for the rear, cuz the one I have now is way to soft. Or if you know how to yourself, RaveX could hook you up with one too.

RE: Need help (suspension)

Where would you get stiffer springs for the rear, cuz the one I have now is way to soft. Do you think it would be that hard to try to do the oil myself on the 04?
You have to properly drain it and then you need a special syringe tool to measure and re-fill it. The first time I ever had it done was by a family friend in his own garage, so it's not like it's something you couldn't do yourself. The price to have it done by a shop definitely seems high for what it is.

At 175 to 200 pounds you'd need stiffer springs. At 155 you're probably in the stock spring ballpark. If you just call Factory Connection and ask you'll get an answer.

RE: Need help (suspension)

if i were you i'd call chris from pro-action suspension, he did my suspension and motor and it's awsome. Just know that chances are you're going to be spending more money than the price they advertise, because they're going to find things that "need replacing" and you'll have no idea whether or not you actually do.

For the 06, if its a new bike to you the first step would be setting the race sag. If you want it "set up" for you like you said, you could have a full re-valve done that would customize the bike for your weight and ability. I'm not sure but I think stock springs in a 250f are for like 160 pound riders. You would only need to think about new ones if you're a good deal heavier or lighter than that.
wow your not as dumb as you look :D:P just kidding... all is true.. good post

RE: Need help (suspension)

If you want to freshen up the 04 or 05 an oil change is a good start, but if you get a rebuild from Factory Connection or Pro Action they'll take everything apart and clean, polish, and inspect everything in addition to the oil change.
