That bites. I will have to call you captain crunch now.  Hehe.  I know it's wierd sometimes you get hurt with the lamest crashes.  MRI is schedule for Tuesday but I'm optimistic I will be riding soon as the last few days have seen a huge improvement as I finally got 99% of range back.

Sounds good Pat, hopefully surgery is not needed and your season ain't ruined. Get well soon and hopefully I'll see you at the track.

Sorry to hear both you and "Captain Crunch" got banged up.  I crashed in May 2002 (age 41) riding my YZ250 in a sharp left hand turn in 3rd gear, laid it down on my left side and ended up breaking all ribs on left in addition to left collarbone needing metal plate.   IT DOES SUCK. But, you will get better, and I am pretty sure you will want to get on again and let it rip!!!  I couldn't stop.  Hang in there.

Yeah I hear you there... can't stop, it's an addiction.  I just had my MRI yesterday and haven't got the results but I'm feeling 100% now so I think I will be riding next week... yeehaa!  I want to do that 100 mile trail ride this weekend in NH and feel it out.

Glad to hear you are feeling better.  A couple of my friends are doing the same 100m NH ride this weekend.  Have you done this before?  I thought about going, but have family related things need to do.  The ride would be a blast.

Yup but I feel like I gained 10lbs since I stopped riding due to sitting on the couch and eating chocolate.  I've never done the trail ride and so I will probably give it a shot Saturday and then decide whetherto do Sunday or not.  Originally I was going to do the NEMX race Saturday but now it will be a couple weeks before ready to race again.  I'm told the trail ride is pretty tame unless you do the hero sections.

Just noticed this video....sorry to hear about the injury...is this 35 or 40b class? I see my buddy Bill Leombruno on the KTM getting the holeshot (651 on the KTM) and then it looks like you passed him. I also notice Mike Treadwell (Monster Kawie) to the right of you at the start. I bought that bike from him two weeks later and raced it for the first time this weekend.

Yeah I'm still majorly bummed about it as I can't really do much of anything active and thinking about getting the surgery sooner than later to fix the ACL.  I can ride but it's really sketchy going right.  I thought about selling the bike until I return but I really like the bike so we shall see.  I was going to wait until winter for surgery but now I'm thinking that will bite with snow to shovel etc.  Yup it looked like your buddy almost crashed right before I passed him.  Thought he was going to high-side.  It was the 35b.

ACL surgery is a good 6 month recovery. I had mine done about 10 years ago, after trying to live with it for a number of years. You can risk doing more damage to it if you wait too long to get it done, and it will be unstable until you do. Good luck though. Bill L. is a good guy, I emailed him a link to your video too btw.

Cool, how did he make out the rest of the series?  It was really fun doing NESC again.  I had done NEMX for a couple seasons and then Maine series for a couple after that.  How many weeks can I expect to miss work?  Luckily I discovered I have 100% paid short term disability.  I haven't figured out how I'm supposed to get to therapy everyday though if I'm going to be on disability.  Maybe I will camp out at the physical therapist parking lot.
