Finally got to my computer. Just wanted to share this with every one. What a great day of racing, too bad this season is almost over.

I wanted to remind every one, even if we're at the end of the year. Yellow flags still have to be seen! SLOW DOWN,KEEP YOUR POSITION, NO MATTER IF YOU HAVE WHITE OR BLACK PLATES! It's a safety issue. Last week's racing had some very intense racers. You should always know your surroundings, behind you, side of you, and always look ahead, (see the flaggers,)

Please ride smart! Ray #790

Maine Rulebook

Page 11  Section  L-3

Yellow flag-   Penalty is -1 lap ?   Was this enforced ? Were rider number's taken for log of these riders to see if they had done this before ?   Have they already been warned.

Im not saying anything to bash the refs, or anyone for that matter.

I have to agree with Meserve, was it reinforced?

Throughout what I have seen this year the referees haven't been much of the enforcers, but they are more like a spectator with the lable of "Referee". Yes, this season I have seen the referees talk to people and give them warnings. How many of them are you going to give? Once you have given someone a couple of warnings they don't care anymore, they know they can get away with it. Right? What I am trying to say is STEP UP TO THE PLATE, take action. Don't watch it happen. Someone know (not mentioning names) whistles at riders he sees riding with a passenger, too fast, not a helmet, etc. He tells them to slow down, HE steps up to the plate.

I hope you understand where I am coming from and I am surly not trying to discredit the referees.

Here's my story... I listen to both sides, and make a decision. I'm in a "rock and a hard place" be mean and offend the rider,or talk to the individuals, most times the person who is in the wrong get's the message.

Years back at an other organization,When you had to push your bike, I was coasting, knee on my peg, I got a two week disqualification letter from the man. That sucked.

The moral of the story, Yellow flags, abide by them! It's a safety issue. Ray

It shouldn't matter how bad you feel after telling a rider they have been disqualified.

Just because a person is first in the points doesn't mean that they can't be disqualified either. RULES NEED TO BE APPLIED.

To your story Ray, Did you break the rule? Yes. Did you learn a lesson? I am assuming so. Therefore the ref WAS doing his job and he didn't care how you felt after being disqualified.

kwatson.144.

This is Cindy Meserve and your reference on this web site is inappropriate based on what I posted.  I simply advised the Maine rule book location and section this could be found and if anyone was penalized?  The referance was so people could review the rule book for clarity and for anyone who wished clarification and where to find it.  If you need clarification on your specific issue talk with the referee's for the race day your speaking about or let it go and move on.

Yellow flag's are caution for any rider who is coming to a location where the rider  should slow down for their own safety, not just that of the rider who needs the space.

Motocross is a sport where EVERY single rider that has raced any length of time has been the cause of a yellow flag at some time or another and respecting the flag is respecting your fellow riders and protection of the sport.
