sounds like things are getting political here, I wish I saved my post from before the start of MMS, One thing I can say I have learned in life, what happens today wont mean S*6t tomorrow, and at MMS your supposed to be in it for the FUN factor, I cant say Ive seen many big sponsers hanging around waiting to see maines Bubba, or Ricky, you want to see the big time go to the Big time, If not enjoy what you have while you have it, wont last forever, someday there will be houses, walmarts, or some other big box store on your track, then you can cry about the prices of milk, Keep up the good work Ray, see you next season, Randy and Cindy, Remember the black squirrels on the way to southwick, when I need a good laugh I think back to those days,

thank you

The ref's have a tough job without question being a referee is hard work a thankless job, you have to speak to people all day long regarding infractions/warnings, there isn't much positive about a ref's day.  THANK YOU JIM AND RAY

The referee is responsible for the safety of the riders, officials and medic's to protect the sport of motocross.    The referee's can not possibly see everything they can't be everyplace at once.

It is up to each and every one of us to protect our sport.

Enough people already think that anyone who rides a motorcycle is bad to the bone.  We have to change the thought process one person at a time.

Don't put the referee's in the position to speak to you.  Help them help motocross gain respect for the great sport it is.

Cindy

OMG remember the black squirriles just thinking about that makes me smile. Your right what is important today is the laughs we have shared for many many years from a friendship that started with a motorcycle.

Here it is in a nut shell. I hope this clears things up so we can all move on. Ref's, administrator's, track owners, are instilled with a lot of power. They need to be very responsible with this power. Rules are guide lines. These rules can be interpreted in many ways. First of all I have observed and watched both Ray and Jim handle situations for several years now. I have been on both ends of the fence with both of them. They have been nothing but respectful and fair, but most important, they have been responsable and reasonable. They have gained my faith and trust. So when they make a decission I kn ow they did it in the best interest of saftey and the sport. On the other hand, I have seen the power in the hands of someone who is zealous and irresponsable and they can cause a lot of unfairness and damage.  I feel very comfortable with the decisson making in the hands of the ref's we have. They have done a GREAD JOB.

MX720, you better have your correct numbers on your chest protector, you better start next to the gate, don't cut the track, repack your silencer, have sharp knobs on your tires, cause we'll be watching you. Hey, I'm just kidding, thanks for your input. Every one's opinions is valuable, and I've taken all into consideration.  Ray #790

Oh, Gramps, you'd better get a gasket set, for when we tear down that 250F and measure the bore. LOL

ok.. ive sat back and read this for a few days now.. it seems like you guys are missing the point. its not that jim or ray do a bad job or any ref for that reason. its enforcing the rules. no one wants to be the "bad guy", buy a few dq's and other forms of disipline need to be done. ive seen people abuse pit riding... no numbers on bikes or backs,
PEDAL BIKES AT THE TRACK!!!, loose dogs, the list goes on and on.... for some people these rules, NOT GUIDELINES!!!, come second nature. but for some.. hey why not.. i dont get in trouble and if i do.. they just yell at me... pfff big whoop!!!! ive seen 2 exp and a bunch of am's jumping on a yellow at valley... i ran up to the ref for the day and .. he just shook his head. were any of them dq... warning... docked a lap??? nope!!! i think the ref do a great job other then enforcing. i know there are over 200 riders and only 1 ref, but at son point you gotta be the bad guy and not be "best of friends" dq a few riders.. and see if other say.. damn that coulda been me.... maybe i should watch myself!!! i know i would and you say you learned too Ray!!! thats my 2 bucks worth...

ya know.. after poting this i was thinking, i heard once that you shouldnt bitch if you dont have a solution. i think we need 2 or 3 fulltime refs. now i know money is a issue so i'm gunna be the first.. i will (next year) volunteer my reffing ability when ever i am trackside. i try to be trackside as much as possible now.. but will be looking for things more. if this is something that the ref's and MMS want. i will do it.

Ray don't worry about it i've got it all

Shawn right on the money, I think the refs are GREAT by all means I do respect everything they do. I practice with Jim a lot, he is a great guy. What Shawn said was exactly what I was trying to get at. I think its NEMA? They have like 5 refs. I know its hard to get a lot of people to be commited but its what needs to be done sooner or later.

Shawn you'd make an good "assistant referee": your first job is to police those pesky pedal bikes that are running amuck all over the place.
