| Recently at the races I have been noticing a trend that is really starting to bug me, and that’s the lack of respect for our nation’s national anthem. After the last practice the whole track gets quiet and they play the star spangled banner, so it shouldn’t be a surprise to anyone that this is going to happen. Unfortunately it is way too common lately for people to be washing their bikes, warming up there machines, or just not standing up for the minute and a half (approx.) that is takes to play the song. Two weeks ago at Bull Run someone sang the national anthem and from what I heard of it they did an awesome job, but I only heard half because someone next to me was washing a bike. Not only was that disrespectful to our great nation but also to the person who has the guts to stand up in front of all us racers and perform. I understand wanting to have your bike ready to race, but every week the first four races are 50’s and even if you are the first race after them I bet you can wash your bike or warm it up in that timeframe. Having traveled around the world and seeing a lot of different nations myself I find it absolutely amazing that we have the opportunity to participate in such a great sport. I feel standing quiet for a minute and a half is the least I can do to show my thanks to the people and the nation that allow me to participate in my favorite pastime. Looking forward to seeing everyone at the classic, I’ll be the guy standing tall and proud when our anthem is playing.

| Wow! Very well felt and said. I am 60 years old and have heard it hundreds of times. When I was young and played sports I use to get chills up and down my spine and so pumped up before the game, when it was played. I still get chills up and down my spine, every time it is played or song, today. I have taught my children and grandchildren to stand and respect the flag when played, as did my grandfather and grandfather. I to have seen some individauls not stand and respect the flag. I always give them a dirty look. Not much else you can do. But thank goodness if you look around you will see most people young and old, standing at attention.

| I COULD NOT AGREE MORE. It is a major lack of respect to not only those who presently serve our country, but also all of the deceased that sacrificed their lives to give what we have today. I recommend anytime you see someone doing this near you, ask them to stop so you can hear. If they don't like it, tough s**t. I think alot of this is from kids learning from their parents, therefore, if the parents do not show respect for the National Anthem, good chances are the children will not.

| Right on. I know my kids (my family) are standing with quiet respect. I also have been in "other areas" of the world. It also irks me when people are disrespectful, but I've know people who lay it on the line, in a big way, to make the dummies free to do what they want. People are stupid sometimes. It sounds juvenile, but it is sooooo true.

| I couldn't agree more with all of you here. My wife and I are often disapointed with the lack of respect or maybe just education twards our flag. I remember growing up playing baseball and football and everyone at the game stood quietly..."Most with their hands or hats over their hearts" and faced the flag. We give a lot of advice at or rider meetings...maybe we could give a minute to mentioning how to show appreciation for our flag and what it represents. Afterall, if not for the blood of the many patriots that came before us we wouldn't have the right to race our toys every week. The funny thing it's that same freedom the flag represents that alows people of our great nation to NOT respect our flag during the national anthem. My $0.02

| I recommend we start playing Toby Keith's "Courtesy of the Red, White, and Blue" (Angry White American) in addition to the National Anthem!!!
