| | i thought it was awesome that the races were cancelled, then 20 minutes after the sun came out and it was beautiful. and how most of the people who voted to cancel were spectators and not riders, while the people who wanted to ride were the riders? Not that it matters to me because i wasn't riding anyways. on the other hand, it was a pretty good weekend and i think that everyone that was involved did a pretty good job. the track looked awesome yesterday. how did everyone do?

| | I for one did not think this was great, as I drove two kids under the age 7 one hour one way to enjoy our first race together this year. I don't know what the hell is going on with this sport but I have never heard of a MX race being canceled due to rain!!! They always specify RAIN or shine. This is MX not NASCAR or baseball or golf. When it rains the race becomes a mudder and is a special skill for an MX pilot to have. Shorten the motos, shorten the circuit if there are parts that are washing out but for goodness sakes run the dang races!!! I cant believe there was even a chance to vote for a cancelation. Are all the riders being refunded there entry fees? Did the big payout still get paid out with only 3/4 of the racing done? I do not blame Hemmonds or the promoters but if I had registered and paid to race and the fans "voted"(lame) to cancel the racing I would be wild. To pull up to a clearing sky, no rain, and all the people in tee shirts taking back the pit passes and such just to hear "The races are canceled" from a smiling gate attendant was infuriating!! Im irritated and now you Know why!! Matt |

| | We had some heavy rain with thunder and lightning, and if you saw the radar it showed a second large cell coming toward that area wich looked like about an hour behind the first one I guess it fizzled out.. Also the fact that the track had some ponds in it.. We got about an inch of flooding rain in an hour.. I would of liked to have gotten at least two motos in though. I'm sure many were dissapointed expecially the ones that were in second place in the first moto and may have had two more motos to battle and place first.. Thats Maine weather it stinks.. I also will add that nine out of ten times its always unsettled and rains the last weekend in June... Hopefully next year its scheduled in July... |

| First i would like to say i feel they owe us a days racing so my son and myself and several other familys are never going to hemonds again unless they give us a race and i hope other people follow in our foot steps cause they will do it over and over again they did it last week at the maine series lighting yes stop racing till it passes but rain heavy rain thats been part of mx since the beginning some of the funniest racing has been in mud and rain. I walked the old track after the rain and my shoes did not even get muddy they could have finished the day off on the old track. The vote was a joke they could have waited till the rain stopped and gave everyone a chance to come down to vote and it should have been decided buy riders in gear not none racers in the barn not in gear. It was called off way to easy and fast like they wanted to call it off but made it look like we wanted it off so they were not the bad guys. Something fishy went down all i know i can not keep giving the hemonds money and getting nearly nothing in return if you went to a shop to get your car tires and paid for four tires and they gave your car back with two new ones wouldent you want a refund for the 2 you did not get or want to know when you could come back for the other 2 same deal at hemonds your paying for something and not getting all of it sorry but that is my true feelings and i am not alone.

I totally agree with the rain and finishing on the old track! As far as non riders deciding to race or not, I believe I made my feelings clear on that one. Ive raced in the rain so many times I couldnt recall but Ill tell you there were times when you coud not get up the old devils drop at bull run and they ran the motos!! Cause this is MOTO CROSS and there are no cancelations in MOTO CROSS. I admire the Hemonds crew for what they have done for the sport in Maine. I think they have done some really good things but to cancel an mx race is ridiculous, and makes me question the motives for running an MX series and track. A person thats passionate about the sport knows that rain and even crazy heavy rain with puddles on the track is a special part of our sport that is to be embraced and laughed at, not to take the money and run. | I completely agree with backbay.
I absolutely loved the place but i dont think i will go back there unless they offer some kind of refund or give us a free race.
I only raced 2 motos when i was supposed to get 6.
$100 for 20 min of racing.
WHAT A WASTE OF MONEY! |
